A VIEW FROM ATLAS PARK

Although death and taxes are guaranteed in life, in CoH/V it's more common to run across debt and taxes. With the Inventions System in full flight, UnSub says it's time for at least one of these things to be reduced. Also: Why does Cryptic need a Board of Advisors?

Fanboy Action Theater

Greetings, citizens, and welcome to Fanboy Action Theater, our semi-regular look at superheroes in the movies. In this installment, we'll review The Punisher, the action-filled movie based on the long-running Marvel comic about everyone's favorite psychotic vigilante. However, we'll be looking at the Dolph Lundgren movie released in 1989 and not the more recent one. As usual, there will be spoilers below. With that said, away we go!

A VIEW FROM ATLAS PARK

I10 has landed on the Live servers and UnSub is very impressed with what he's seen. But is I10 the best CoH/V issue yet?

VILLAIN 101

Welcome to Chapter 7 of Villain 101, the ongoing exploits of my villain, Twilight Dusk, in City of Villains. As usual, the column will be written from two viewpoints, the first from Twilight Dusk's perspective, and the second will be my thoughts on the game so far. Time for some villainy!

Twilight Dusk: After spending some quality time with Crimson Raine doing target practice using hobos, I decided that I needed to get back into the thick of things. After checking the paper, I noticed an article about a Snake named Slythe holding up a bank. The good news for Slythe was that he scored a lot of dough; the bad news for Slythe was that I knew where he was holed up. I told my boys to gear up as that we were going Snake-hunting.

Mialiah takes a look at Issue 10 and the highlights thereof.

UnSub's missed a bit of time due to a hard drive crash - here's a quick look at the Double Experience weekend (remember that?), I10's quick appearance on the Test servers and the CoH movie deal.

Fanboy Action Theater

Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Fanboy Action Theater, our semi-regular look at superhero movies. This time around, we'll veer away from the traditional cape and spandex heroes to the ultimate trenchcoat-wearing magician in Constantine, the movie based on DC Comics' John Constantine from the Hellblazer comic. As usual, spoilers will abound, so stop reading if you don't want to know what happens!

VILLAIN 101

Welcome to Chapter Six of Villain 101, the continuing saga of Twilight Dusk, my character in City of Villains. As usual, the column is written in two voices. The first from Twilight Dusk's viewpoint whilst the other is my take on my gaming experience so far.

Twilight Dusk: I think that I'm in love. I know it's hard to believe, but I guess even hard-core villains such as myself can suffer the pangs of Cupid's arrow. It all started when I decided to make a withdrawal at the local bank. Naturally, the fact that I didn't have an account didn't bother me as that my withdrawal slip consisted of my twin .45s! My boys, Trask and Bouncer, and I slipped into the bank and were getting ready to start the action when the hottest dark-haired woman I've ever seen walked in. She was an absolute vision, wearing a crimson jacket and matching schoolgirl skirt. I noticed that she was wearing glasses which made me almost break into a sweat as that she looked like some sort of evil, hot librarian. Suddenly, she whipped out the biggest rifle I've ever seen and began slinging lead into the closest rent-a-cop! The muzzle flashes from her rifle lit her face up like an angel as she began to laugh manically as she continued shooting at the other bank guards.

VILLAIN 101

Welcome to Chapter 5 of Villain 101, the ongoing exploits of my villain, Twilight Dusk, in City of Villains. As usual, the column will be written from two viewpoints, the first from Twilight Dusk's perspective, and the second will be my thoughts on the game so far. Well, let's get on to it!

A Heroines Perspective

Last time, we talked about Mialiah's Primary set, Claws. Her secondary is the ever popular Regen set.

Fanboy Action Theater

Hello again to Fanboy Action Theater, our semi-regular look at superhero movies. We'll be taking a gander at X-Men, the first of the three X-Men movies based upon Marvel's most popular comic, this time around. As usual, there will probably be spoilers below, so read on at your own peril! (Honestly though, this movie came out 7 years ago. If you haven't seen it by now, then that's your own fault.)

A VIEW FROM ATLAS PARK

UnSub looks at his first I9 experiences as well as how things look two weeks out from launch.

VILLAIN 101

Welcome, future villains, to Chapter 4 of Villain 101, the ongoing adventures of Twilight Dusk, my criminal mastermind in City of Villains. As par the course, the column will be written from two perspectives, one from the viewpoint of Twilight Dusk himself, and the other will be my take on the game so far. Let's get to it!

ALTOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

One of the things I really enjoyed about the 'City of' games was the lack of loot, lack of spam about loot, and lack of people asking for loot. One of the things I hated about other games was having all of that to sift through in the chat channels. "Selling _____ PST" and other such nonsense. My main gripe against it was the breaking of reality.

Now that we have loot in the invention system and I've had a chance to see how people react to it, it seems to be more of a good thing than bad.
